19th Hole Party

The 19th Hole Party turns 6! Save Muny and Criquet Shirts are pleased to announce the return of the best community party of the year!

Date and time: Fri, March 25, 2022, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM CDT

Location: The American Legion- Charles Johnson House, 404 Atlanta Street, Austin, TX 78703

Please join us as we celebrate Lions Municipal Golf Course or "Muny" and let our local leaders and the University of Texas know how important this beautiful green space is to our community. It is critical for us to send a loud and clear message. Whether Lions is where you play golf or walk your dog, or if it is a place that you value and admire as the first desegregated municipal golf course in the South, its importance to the City of Austin cannot be overstated. Enjoy cocktails, food, lawn games, a silent auction, and other opportunities to raise funds to help Save Muny once and for all.

19th Hole Attire: Golf Chic to Caddyshack 2021! Wear your favorite fun, funky and fashion forward looks. Dress to impress, the two people with the best style win a prize!

Held during the week of the WGC Dell Match Play tournament, the 19th Hole Party celebrates the past, present, and future of golf in Austin with all proceeds benefiting the Muny Conservancy, the non-profit organization working to save and renovate Lions Municipal Golf Course for future generations.

Lions Municipal Golf Course is Austin’s oldest and most beloved public golf course, a treasured urban green space recognized as a nationally significant civil rights historical site. It is listed on the National Register and was recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of “America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places”. Our city is in danger of losing this invaluable property to development, but Muny can still be saved with your support.

"This is an iconic Austin treasure, a place where Ben Hogan and Harvey Penick battled Morris Williams Jr. and Ed Hopkins, where Sandra Haynie of O. Henry and LPGA fame won four city championships, where Crenshaw and Tom Kite honed their Hall of Fame games, and where two young black men who caddied asked to play a round at Muny in 1950 and thankfully were not denied. Hard to put a price on all that.” - Kirk Bohls, Austin American
